Aksel Lund Svindal er en… alpinist? Visstnok. Han bryr seg mest av alt i verden om statsledere som misbruker makta si. Det er særlig fælt at ikke alle får den informasjonen de skal ha. Også er det slemme næringslivsledere. De misbruker også makt.
Han synes også norske damer er fine. Å så fine. Det er så vanskelig å bestemme seg for hvem som er mestest sexy i landet her. Men det er sånt det er hyggelig å tenke litt over, fundere, da veit du, over hvorfor det er sånn nettopp i detta landet. Koselig det.
Hvem er Norges mest sexy person?
- Wow, ja hvem er det? Jeg kunne sagt Pia Tjelta, men det er et kjedelig svar. Kanskje Maria Bonnevie? Eller Mira Craig, hun er rå. Det er mange fine damer i Norge. Jeg har en teori om at det skyldes vikingene. Da de voldtok kvinner, tok de selvsagt de fineste. Dermed har genene gått opp gjennom slektene fram til i dag.
Ha ha ha ha. Ja, tenk på det. Naturen er sannelig viselig innrettet. Der var du jammen heldig, Svindal, så mye pent å se på.
Og det bare fortsetter. Fra generasjon til generasjon.

Nå var vel teorien at ved å velge de ut vakreste kvinnene fra en annen befolkning, øker man forekomsten av skjønnhetsgener i den befolkningen man tar med disse kvinnene hjem til. Det er den ekstra «innskytningen» av nye skjønnhetsgener (pga. utsilingen av kvinnene fra den andre befolkningen), ikke voldtekten kvinnene ble utsatt for, som Svindal spekulerer i om er årsaken til norske kvinners skjønnhet. (Voldtekt innad en «lukket» befolkning hvor utsiling ikke foregår, vil ikke ha noen skjønnhetsøkende virkning.)
Om det er hold i denne teorien, er en annen sak, men jeg kan ikke på noen måte se at Svindal forsvarer voldtekt. Jeg kan heller ikke se at tilstandene i Kongo har noen som helst relevans til det han sa.

Selvsagt forsvarer ikke Svindal voldtekt. Er det noen som har sagt det? Men han synes altså det er relevant å trekke fram voldtekt når han skal bedømme hvem som er mest sexy av tre norske kvinner: Voldtekt har ført til pene damer. Jeg synes han gjør lett av en grotesk historie med vold og overgrep mot kvinner i krigssituasjoner. En historie som fortsetter i mange land. Blant annet Kongo. Jeg synes jommen meg folk godt kan tenke gjennom hva de sier og hvilke implikasjoner det har.

Jeg synes det kommer veldig klart frem hva Svindal mente, men hvis det ikke kommer klart frem, mangler man jo egentlig grunnlag for å kritisere uttalelsene hans. Man kan ikke kritisere det man ikke forstår; det ender bare med at man leser sitt eget budskap inn i teksten og angriper en stråmann.
Voldtekt har ikke ført til pene damer. Seleksjon av vakre kvinner, som muligens ble voldtatt, har økt forekomsten av skjønnhetsgener i befolkningen. Dette er alt Svindals teori går ut på, dvs. det er den eneste meningsgivende måten å tolke ordene hans på. Om det er noe hold i denne teorien, kan selvfølgelig diskuteres. Hva det imidlertid ikke er noen tvil om, er at menneskelig evolusjon generelt er ganske heslige saker. Som én sa det: «Evolusjonen lærer oss at vi mennesker er noen heslige skapninger som har vunnet frem gjennom en grusom og frastøtende blanding av sex og vold […]. [Den] dytter vår forfinede nese ned i dritten vi kommer fra og viser de religiøse at de slett ikke er noen produkter av en kjærlig guds inspirerte skapelse, men produkter av noe som de religiøse betrakter som grunt og ondt og forferdelig.»
Når man snakker om menneskelig evolusjon, er det groteske og grusomme ved den underforstått. I hvert fall er det det for enhver som vet noe som helst om hvordan evolusjonen foregår. Derfor synes jeg det er helt feil å anklage Svindal for å gjøre «lett av en grotesk historie med vold og overgrep mot kvinner i krigssituasjoner», bare fordi han ikke utbroderer om noe vi alle vet så altfor godt fra før, dvs. at voldtekt er grusomt. Det er som å anklage en som omtaler andre verdenskrig i nøkterne vendinger for å ikke ta historiens grusomhet på alvor, bare fordi han ikke enda en gang legger ut om all nedslaktning og folkemord og blod og død og faenskap som menneskenes historie er gjennomsyret av. Alt det VET vi. Det grusomme ved begivenhetenes gang er underforstått. Er det ikke?

Det utsagnet er jo faktisk vanvittig hull i hodet. Ikke bare fordi han blir spurt om å snakke om pene damer og ender opp på voldtekt i løpet av noen setninger, som er en nasty sak i seg selv.
Men helt konkret- å voldta damer i et annet land ville vel ikke ført til noen økning (pen eller stygg) av folk i Norge med mindre de tok med seg voldteksofrene sine hjem i vikingskipet? Det han sier har jo ingen sammenheng!

Jeg gremmes. Det er jo nettopp slik patriarkat og kjønnsmakt reproduseres - gjennom menn med manglende bevissthet og selvinnsikt, menn med oppsvulmede egoer og ensidig fokus på prestasjoner og penger. Det er bare så deprimerende at det aldri tar slutt. Jeg lurer noen ganger på om ting går baklengs.

Svindal har ikke funnet på dette selv, jeg har hørt denne flåsete kommentaren fra andre gutter også.

Og så vil jeg gjerne tilføye at det ikke fins noe slikt som “skjønnhetsgener” - bare piss. Hvis man i det hele tatt kan kalle Svindals brainfart for en “teori”, er den fullstendig feilslått.

Men - det er da ikke slik at en bare voldtar vakre kvinner? Voldtekt blir brukt som et våpen i krig, det skjer ikke fordi soldater(vikinger ser en vakker kvinne og vil ha sex.

jeg føler at dette er litt som Dagbladet og VG holder på, lage seg overskrifter av å ikke forstå spøk. mener du har hatt en sånn runde tidligere, med en frode øverli-uttalelse. jeg som er vant til å høre øverli og svindal uttale seg, oppfatter uttalelsene humoristisk.
hvis man gjør et forsøk på å følge logikken hans er det åpenbart ikke voldtekt som er poenget. Menn velger da i minst like stor grad de mest attraktive damene når de velger seg bruder. Han mener ikke at voldtekt utgjør forskjellen, han sikter åpenbart til vikingenes raid i utlandet, hvor de kunne hente kvinner hjem til norge mer eller mindre mot deres vilje, og at de da valgte de mest attraktive. Det påstås at det var slik genet for rødt hår kom til norge, via kidnappede, irske friller.
det er synd svindal brukte ordet voldtekt, som fikk dere til å se rødt, for i forhold til det sportsmenn vanligvis lirer av seg, og hvis man er istand til å se nøkternt historisk på det, er teorien en interessant tanke. jeg er ikke enig med lållråffel i at menneskers utseende er genetisk uavhengig. men enig i at den klønete gjengivelsen tyder på at svindal refererer teorien og ikke har tenkt den ut selv.

Vel, Esquil og Marius, dette var et svar på hvem som er Norges mest sexy kvinne. Svindal valgte å trekke inn voldtekt når han skulle svare, og det er og blir ureflektert og ekkelt, uansett hvor interessant eller nøkternt man hypotetisk sett kunne ha snakket disse teoriene. Man kan også snakke nøkternt om holocaust og om massemord og etniske utrenskninger, men de fleste ville holde seg for god til å trekke inn evt. “positive” virkninger av slike tragedier på fjåsete spørsmål i Dagbladet.
Jeg synes vel at de fleste land har sin andel av vakre mennesker. Også England. I det hele tatt er det noe læmt med den type patriotisme.

Heldigvis for oss andre har de fleste av oss ikke journalister som ivrige tilhørere - journalister som til alt overmål presterer å trykke mølet.

Ikke annet enn kvalmende - uansett hva slags motiver og bakenforliggende teorier man skal tolke inn i Hr. Svindals kommentar. Jeg tror for øvrig han er særdeles grunn - og derfor blir det blir helt meningsløst å skulle fortolke utsagnet i utgangspunktet.

Jeg sa ikke at utseende er uavhengig av gener, jeg sa at “skjønnhetsgener” ikke er et ord. Skjønnhet er kulturelt betinget, det som var vakkert i førmiddelalderen er ikke nødvendigvis vakkert idag. Jeg gjentar: det fins ikke belegg for en slik “teori”. Det er en rølpete grisevits, ikke noe annet.

Det må da være grenser for hvor mye man skal reagere på. man forstår jo hva gutten mener… han er forresten ikke “visstnok” alpinist, han er verdens beste alpinist. Verdensmester. Og det er mye bedre at han gidder å lese aviser og bryr seg om hva som skjer i verden enn at han leser Donald og piller seg i nesen. Eller hur?

Øh. Tok de i stor grad de voldtatte kvinnene med seg hjem til Norge? Jeg trodde snarere de lot dem være igjen og bære frem barn der de var - i så fall er det engelske og irske kvinner som er blitt vakre grunnet nordiske gener.
Snarere er det vel alle de besøkende italienere, spanjoler og portugisere som har handlet langs kysten som la igjen genene sine, og dermed gjør at vi f.eks. er mørkere enn svensker og finner.

iskwew, med all mulig respekt, nå prøver heller ikke du å forstå hva svindal mente. han snakker om kidnappede kvinner, og bruker dessverre ordet voldtatt. det er ikke ukjent at kvinner ble ført hjem til norge på vikingraidene. raidene var dessuten ikke alltid kjapt inn-ut, det fantes mange kortvarige vikingkolonier på de britiske øyene, altså at de oppholdt seg der en tid, kanskje til og med over generasjoner, mens de utvekslet folk med hjemlandet.
jeg mener forøvrig at toril torstad hauger har skrevet om slike kidnappede keltiske kvinner, at denne boken var mye brukt som tvangslesing i barneskolen, og at det kan ha sitt å si for utviklingen av svindals teori.

men hvis jeg skal prøve å forstå deg, tror jeg poenget ditt er at skjønnhet er kulturelt betinget og derfor ikke overførbart mellom generasjoner. min følelse er at du peker på en faktor som har innflytelse, men ikke avgjørende innflytelse. noen ting som høyde og symmetri, er såvidt jeg har oppfattet rimelig klassiske skjønnhetsindikatorer. Skjønnhetsidealene endres heller ikke absolutt, idealet var visstnok ‘rundere’ på marilyn monroes tid, men jeg mistenker at hun kunne valgt på øverste hylle også i dag. Dessuten, når man skal oppnå skjønnhet inngår estetisk sans og viljestyrke til å oppnå skjønnhetsidealet, enten det er en slank figur, miniføtter torturert av for små sko eller å lage seg 40 cm hals ved hjelp av stålringer. skjønnhet, og for oss menn kulhet, inneholder alltid et element av selvpining, og evnen til dette ser ut til å være arvelig, det er det nok av eksempler på i idretten.
Men, som sagt, interessant å diskutere. Vitenskapen har i liten grad tatt tak i begrepet skjønnhet, samtidig som vi ser at det har stor innflytelse på samfunnet.

Gjentar for 3. gang: UTSEENDE og SKJØNNHET er ikke én og samme ting. Det er umulig å vite om de kvinnene som evt. ble bortført og brakt til Norge var “vakre”, uansett om man skal vurdere det i forhold til dagens skjønnhetsidealer eller de som rådet i vikingetiden.
Hva folk er villige til å gjøre for å oppfylle skjønnhetsidealene som gjelder i den tiden og den kulturen de lever i, er også et resultat av mellommenneskelig, kulturell påvirkning. Det er ikke slik at vi har et instinktivt behov for å ha rett nese eller små føtter.
Om norske menn syns at kvinner i andre land i Norge er mindre pene enn norske kvinner, er det sannssynligvis mer fordi de foretrekker det de er “vant” til, og pga. den vanlige norske fordommen om at alt er så mye bedre og finere i Norge.

There is one geographic clue I have not addressed in years:::Uranus, a planet tilted 90 degrees on its axis.
